PNZ commitment to SPARC and the

development of petanque in New Zealand

These are the objectives that we have agreed with SPARC that we are trying to achieve. They come from our Strategic Plan, and are aligned with SPARC’s own objectives, as they have agreed with the Government.

SPARC “invests” in petanque, currently $6000 a year, to help us achieve these objectives. In addition, this year SPARC have given us an extra, one-off grant of $4000, tied to the achievement of our coaching and umpiring goals, which we identified as stalling for lack of resources.

The strategies show what we propose to do in order to achieve our goals; the performance indicators are how we will know whether we have succeeded.

This schedule provides PNZ with a framework for the development of petanque in New Zealand and progress against objectives is assessed regularly at Executive and Council meetings, and reported to SPARC annually.
